WHY LAWRENCE HUGHES STANDS TALL TO SAVE THE LIVES OF JW KIDS and so we need to support his battle that is continual Lawrence Hughes at daughter's grave. Watchtower got her low dose arsenic instead of transfusions. As Christ said, the very stones can cry out in witness. Who can argue against this gravestone? Now do you see why we don't "just move on"? Lawrence Hughes was a Jehovah's Witness with three daughters.  One, Bethany Abigail Hughes, had cancer.  The normal treatment for it was chemotherapy with blood transfusions, and a world expert in her kind of cancer said with it being continued she would have had a 50% chance of living.  Instead, Watchtower's agents talked her into substituting low doses of arsenic with orange juice.  She died.  Lawrence's courtroom battles against Watchtower drove him into bankruptcy, but he keeps on battling in hopes of saving the lives of his other two daughters and very probably other children and adults whom some of you reading this know.  1 Samuel 14:32-35 shows God forgave Saul's men after they ate blood to stay alive, so despite Watchtower's trying to steer JWs into thinking no scriptures permit emergency blood use, that's both false and a killer. If you're a JW reader who has addresses of other JWs mail or email them a copy of 1 Samuel 14:32-35 and beside it write "EMERGENCY USE OF BLOOD."  What can they say?  It's in the Bible unless they want to remove it, right.  It will make them think, slide the veil back farther from their eyes, help save more lives.  You may also share the verse with doctors, nurses, judges etc.  Hopefully Watchtower will send its nosey Watchmen to this website and they too will know that JW children's deaths are unscriptural. LEVITICUS, DEUTERONOMY, 1 SAMUEL AND MATTHEW 12 APPROVE EMERGENCY BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS Scriptures show different major Bible statements about blood made before and after Jesus' death. The first of the three dealt with the time of Noah and the second with the later Mosaic law, and all three show that the emergency use of blood is Biblically permitted.  For example, Deuteronomy 14:21 said if Israelites found a dead animal they were not to eat it but could give it to a foreigner to eat.  God would not insist that someone, including a foreigner, that is a non-Israelite, break His laws, and non-Israelites were also descendents of Noah.  Since non-Israelites could eat an animal with its blood in order to save life, Noah could have too.  Noah and other humans after him were indeed forbidden to consume blood but this was in order to show appreciation for life, which is what blood symbolizes; it was not for the sake of blood itself.  Blood usage was permitted when needed in order to save life from Noah's time onwards. Backing this up was Leviticus 17 which says to pour the blood of a slaughtered animal onto the ground. If an Israelite ate the animal's blood he was to be killed according to Deuteronomy 14:21.  Leviticus 17:15 says if a man ate the meat of an animal which died from natural causes in order to save his own life, then he was not to be killed but simply considered unclean until morning when he had to wash himself and his clothing.   Life itself was and is more important to God than an animal's blood.  So both Deuteronomy 14 and Leviticus 17 help show that not even the Mosaic Law totally forbade the eating of blood when life was at stake. A third passage of scripture drives home the point since Samuel 14:31-35 shows God forgave Saul's entire army after the men ate un-bled animals in order to stay alive.  They had to build an altar to show they were sorry that it had been necessary to eat blood to stay alive, but because it had been to stay alive, their eating blood with the meat was forgiven.  After Christ came, Christian principles such as the fruits of God's Spirit like love and joy operated for Christians rather than the thousands of rules and regulations forming the Mosaic Law.  Although Acts 15:20 says for Christians to abstain from blood, which most Christians normally seek to do in any case, this was not an absolutely rigid law but a "decision" subject to Christian principles.   It was balanced by Christ at Matthew 12:7 saying that God wants Mercy not Sacrifice, and this means that the sacrifice of even one human being over blood usage is one sacrifice too many.    Yes, God's will throughout the history of the Bible has been that life must be put first, not blood which is a symbol of life.  Putting blood over life as is done by Watchtower Society heads forbidding emergency whole blood transfusions for Jehovah's Witnesses, shows dangerous ignorance of the scriptures, is anti-Christ and the true will of God.  Please make and share copies of this which is based in part on information that was posted at jehovahs-witness.com in December 2008.
