The Christmas
tree is not a descendent of the pagan Yule tree according to Encyclopedia Brittannica but began in the popular 11th
century Paradise Play in German churches. The drama told of Adam and Eve, featured the Tree Of Life in the Garden of Eden
paradise, and it ended with the promise of Christ’s return. The paradise tree with some apples was
pretty, so Christians began putting up their own trees in their homes for Christmas.
Scholars have actual references to the tree’s origin from
centuries old manuscripts. Lesser encyclopedias are still tending to link the trees origin to pagan usage
of trees or various legends, but that will change with time.
