Proverbs 4:23 says “Above
all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Similarly Proverbs 14:30 says “A peaceful
heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones.”
Science and common sense also show
that the literal heart above all does need protection. There the following was researched. It is for information
only, NOT in any way to be regarded as prescriptive. Indeed, if you suspect that you have some heart issue then please
go see your doctor at once.
To begin, then, sources have said for example that:
Two to three grams daily
of spikenard herb may be used to stimulate normal heart beat. Drinking grape juice daily can help slow heart beat.
Two teaspoons of honey can help give relief from heart palpitation within an hour of taking.
Daily magnesium helps
balance calcium levels in the heart's muscle cells by helping control enzymes releasing calcium. Some have used
the citrate form to the amount of 200 mg. When heart muscle contracts calcium moves into the cells. It appears
best to take it before sleeping. Nuts and soybeans are good for getting magnesium.
Potassium
also helps relieve heart palpitations, and it can be gotten from bananas, tomatoes, peanuts, etc.
When experiencing
heart palpitation the vagal nerve can be stimulated to calm its rate of beat by breathing deeply and gently massaging the
right carotid artery.
It’s best to avoid consuming items with caffeine including chocolate for they promote
heart palpitation.
It’s good to not skip meals or eat too much candy for pancreatic enzymes will try to
offset the increased sugar by speeding up, stimulating adrenal glands affecting heart beat.
Walking is good.
Over several weeks one can slowly go on longer walks in comfortable clothing the same time daily and preferably with friends
or family.
However, it is better to not exercise if the weather is too hot or cold, right after eating,
or if not feeling well. Also it is wise to avoid activities that require holding the breath or bearing down as
when lifting weights.
If you believe you may have had a heat attack then don't take any chances.
It is said to be best to immediately chew an aspirin and get to a doctor fast!
