HANDY BIBLE READING SCHEDULE
This is only a suggested
possible way for reading through the Bible as individuals or groups. You may, for example, start by a
brief prayer followed by reading Matthew 1 for the first week, Matthew 2 for the second week, etcetera. If
meeting as a group of two or more you may ask that all present thoughtfully consider how he or she may be able to apply the
scriptures to their own life. Prayer may go before and after the Bible reading. You may wish to include
music, song, a simple meal, a talk or testimonial, a group project for doing some fine works or charitable causes.
There are 260 total chapters in the Bible, and some chapters are longer or shorter than others. The total
of 260 chapters divided by the 52 weeks which are in a year equals 5 years. So this is a reading schedule good for that
length of time, doing only one chapter per week. The Hebrew-Aramaic or Old Testament part of the Bible may be used for
individual reading and or talks by individuals. As 2 Timothy 3:16 says, all scriptures are beneficial,
can reprove and train us. On the other hand it's also true that some scriptures weigh even heavier than others.
Also, if you are an isolated or relatively isolated person you are encouraged to make use of the internet for social
fellowshipping, telephone conferencing on or off the internet etc. Facebook.com, MySpace.com, etc are some common social
networks but of course each has bad personalities intertwined with wise, good and understanding friends who love
God.
