"HONOR YOUR MOTHER," SAYS GOD VERSUS "DON'T CELEBRATE MOTHER'S DAY," SAYS WATCHTOWER'S GOVERNING BODY MEN (They need a Bible study to learn what the Bible says, don't they) MOTHER’S DAY: Independent from any past celebrations (Roman, Greek etc), US writer Julia Ward Howe called for an annual Mother’s Day in 1870 to also promote peace and women's right to vote. In 1905 Anna Jarvis used it to show appreciation for good mothers given by God after her own mother died.  Some churches and Congress backed it so by 1914 it was a national holiday.  The UK’s similar Mothering Sunday came from the 1700s but details are not clear. Today many E Asian nations do the American version; African nations the British. In fact Scripture says Honor your mother and father; Watchtower says don’t.  Guess which I say is right! Further, “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. U.S. FEDERAL COURT CASE NOW GOING ON MAY BE OF MAJOR SIGNIFICANCE FOR ALL SHUNNED EX-JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES In a U.S. Federal Court discrimination case filed against a Jehovah's Witness boss (elder Stanley Stover), an ex-Jehovah's Witness woman (Amanda Qualls), says her boss called her a "filthy fornicator" and threatened, "I will strip you naked and make you dance for the men in the shop," after she quit being a Jehovah's Witness.  The article is dated May 9, 2012 http://www.courthousenews.com/2012/05/09/46372.htm Ms Qualls says on August 11, 2010, Stover told her his wife was getting upset with him for playing inappropriately with his foster daughters, and Ms' Qualls fiancee reported Stover to Child Protective Services on September 1, 2010 followed by her being fired two days later. Comment: The U.S. Supreme Court has said Watchtower can enact shunning against Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses, but, it has not allowed Watchtower's elders, to continue brutalizing Ex-members.  This case might be about to set an important precedent by clearly demonstrating that although the High Court has let Watchtower inflict shunning upon ex-members, its agents,  elders, cannot inflict worse abuses or punishments.    This could limit the ability of Watchtower or any other harsh organizations from causing so much lasting harm.
